Mupoer Store: Li-ion AA Batteries (1.5V, 4Ah/6Wh) w/4-Xbox Magnetic Holders & Fast Charger, Qty: 8. Mupoer Store: Li-ion AA Batteries (1.5V, 4Ah/6Wh) w/4-Xbox Magnetic Holders & Fast Charger, Qty: 8This is a review of the Mupoer set of eight (8) rechargeable Lithium-ion AA batteries and the USB-C powered fast charger. This product consists of eight (8) rechargeable AA-sized batteries, a fast-charger that can accept and recharge all eight batteries simultaneously, four (4) Xbox-specific magnetic battery holders, a USB-A to USB-C charging cord, and a User Manual printed in six languages (English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, and Chinese). The batteries in this set utilize lithium-ion chemistry that will allow them to go through 2500 recharging cycles before needing replacement, thus eliminating much waste associated with common alkaline or carbon-zinc chemistry legacy batteries. The stated electrical specifications of the batteries are 1.5 Volts and an energy rating of 3000 milliwatt-hours (mWh). This leads to a calculated energy capacity of 2000 milliamp-hours (mAh). The energy rating and the calculated energy capacity are mid-range for lithium-ion rechargeable battery cells, even those with electronically regulated 1.5V outputs such as these. These values are still better than those for rechargeable AA Nickle Metal Hydride (NiMH) chemistry batteries. The fast-charger accepts a USB-C input and the User Manual states that the power input to the Fast Charger should be 5.0 volts @ 3 amps. This is the normal output of the original USB wall charger blocks. Please note that most of the USB chargers that conform to the newer Quick Charge (QC) or Power Delivery (PD) charging protocols are backwardly compatible and will automatically step-down to the required legacy charging protocol if they do not detect the required circuitry for QC or PD protocols to be invoked. This product is supplied with eight (8) AA-sized electronically regulated Lithium-ion batteries designed to reduce the nominal 3.7V output of the Lithium-ion battery cell to a 1.5V output. This makes the cells suitable for use in devices that require a nominal 1.5V power source equivalent to the output from the legacy Carbon-Zinc and alkaline-chemistry battery cells. The product is supplied with four (4) Xbox-specific magnetic battery holders and a dedicated fast charger box that is specially designed to accept the four Xbox-specific magnetic battery holders. The Xbox-specific magnetic battery holders simply hold the batteries in a specific orientation and have no electrical connectivity. The Xbox-specific magnetic battery holders may also accept other 1.5V-regulated Lithium-ion batteries for charging and use in the accepted Xbox devices. The product’s Amazon page indicates that the Xbox-specific magnetic battery holders will allow these supplied Lithium-ion battery pairs to be used in the Xbox One, Xbox One S/X, Xbox Series X/X and Xbox Elite models. When I received the product, I connected the Fast Charger to my new GaN-based 100W charger. The GaN-based charger successfully negotiated the electronic handshake and worked perfectly thereafter. The Fast Charger immediately began a self-test process. After about fifteen seconds, the Fast Charger began to charge the eight batteries contained within the Fast Charger. The eight batteries took about three hours to fully charge. After charging, I tested the batteries in some commonly used electronic devices I have including a flashlight, several remote controls, a combustible gas detector/analyzer, and a rotary grinder tool. All of the devices worked properly.I like these batteries because they have a very low internal self-discharge rate, which means they do not just go dead in a couple of months like what happens with some alkaline-chemistry batteries. I also like that the lithium-ion chemistry allows for a constant-voltage output of 1.5 volts until the battery capacity is nearly consumed. Only at that point does the output voltage begin to drop. I also like the Fast Charger supplied with this set because it can charge up to eight batteries, all at the same time, but each battery is analyzed and charged individually so that no single battery may be overcharged or damaged. The charger can also charge any number of batteries less than the maximum quantity of eight batteries with no issues. I also like that the fast charger can detect and report when a battery being recharged is damaged or defective and must be replaced by the display of a red light instead of the green light displayed when the battery is charging or the charging has completed. Most of all, I like that I will not be throwing so many depleted alkaline batteries into the trash on a regular basis.

Good power, quite long lasting. Would recommend. I charged them first when I opened the package. My son has been using the same pack of batteries in his Xbox controller and playing pretty consistently for the past 3 days, and he says they do make the vibration stronger, and have not died yet, so I would recommend them. (Plus now I can keep my AA batteries for things that actually need them) it’s nice that each of the 4 packs are secured together in pairs, makes it easier to keep track of them and change them out quickly. Good value for the price, especially since by the time he goes through all 4 sets a couple times, they’ve already paid for themselves in AA batteries I have saved on. I know he hates asking for new batteries for his controller because he feels like he’s wasting batteries but he is doing something he enjoys and now he can recharge his own batteries for it and can play as much as he wants, and im glad to see him more happy.

Compact battery kit. Takes long to recharge. Here’s what I like about this kit:+ 8 batteries in a self-contained and closed charging unit. I can just take the charging box without worrying about batteries dropping off their slots+ Charging indicator is handy+ The ability to detect faulty batteries and not chargeHere’s what’s been annoying:- Just a USB-C cable without an AC adapter.- I presume the batteries showed up with some charge but after 3.5 hours of charging with a 2.4A adapter, the batteries were still recharging (blinking green). Even with trickle/slow charge towards the tail-end of charging, this is way too long a time- The description is inconsistent. Are these 3000mwh or 6000mwh batteries? I figured former but this just shows sloppinessThere are comparable alternatives at this price range. Longevity is a TBD.

Great batteries with xbox compatbility as a bonus. No 1.5V regulator though. I’ve been using a set of 4 EBL 3300mWh USB rechargeable lithium AAs in my VR controllers for some time, but those are very expensive for only 4 while these get you 12 batteries for a similar price so I was intrigued. I will say up front that these batteries do not have an output voltage regulator that keeps a solid 1.5V throughout the discharge which the competing EBL batteries do. The voltage remains higher than a NiMH cell (always above 1.35V), but it will drop to around 1.45V under 0.1C load for most of the time.First impressions were quite good. The batteries come in the 4×2 charging case with an extra 4 in a convenient holder (with two extra xbox frames). I was somewhat worried that the batteries would not be standard AAs or not be removable from the frames for uses other than xbox controllers but it turns out they work great for any AA use case. They can be charged outside of the frames but then they fit slightly loose and sometimes need to be repositioned before they start charging.I wanted to test the capacity claim of 3000mWh (2000mAh) vs some other higher rated rechargeable AAs so I threw them against some Lenmar NiMH AAs (2150mAh) and the EBL 3300mWh (2200mAh) lithium AAs in a 0.1C or 0.2A discharge test from 1.5V down to 1.0V. These batteries *should* all last around 10 hours if they meet their claimed capacity. The Lenmar NiMHs saw large voltage drops going from 1.45V to 1.25V within the first hour of the test. 1.25V to 1.2V was held through the next several hours before finally dropping quickly down to 1.0V. The total mAh ended up at 1680, which computes out to around 2058mWhNext up was the EBLs which have a voltage regulator that ensures the voltage is always 1.51V right up until it drops to zero. They managed 1690mAh at a constant 1.51V that works out to 2550mWHFinally I tested the Mupoer cells. Unlike the EBLs they do not have a voltage regulator but they also hold a higher voltage than a NiMH cell during discharge. They averaged 1.45V with 1758mAh of capacity that works out to 2550mWh, matching the EBLs within margin of error. So the net result is that these batteries are an awesome value for nearly the same performance of the EBL batteries at roughly 1/3rd the cost, assuming you don’t need a constant 1.5v, which almost no device actually does. The plastic frames to make them work better in XBox controllers is just a bonus.
